Aircraft Instrument Panel Light Dimming Rheostat. P/N 0144. Alternate P/Ns OA507272-6, RHS-8R0, 26945, 507272-4, 507272-6, 00-523-5841. NSN: 5905-00-523-5841. 25W, 8 Ohm. This type rheostat is used in production aircraft to dim instrument panel lights. It measures 1-9/16" diameter, 2" long and it mounts in a 3/8" diameter instrument panel hole. The shaft is 1/4" diameter. It was removed from a salvage aircraft.
